Gunmen have killed a Adamawa State councillor, Ishaya Bakano, on Saturday.
Mr Bakano, who hails from Song Local Government Area of the state, was the deputy leader of Song Local Government Council. He represented Gudu Mboi Ward in the council.
The assailants stormed the lawmaker’s residence in his hometown, Banga, in the early hours of Saturday.
They shot his son and kidnapped the lawmaker.
The legislator, it was learned, was killed hours later by the gunmen.
Spokesperson of Adamawa Police Command, Superintendent of Police Suleiman Nguroje, has confirmed the incident.
