At least 36 people have been killed when gunmen attacked Shikaan Mbagena Kpav community in Katsina-Ala local government area of Benue State.
A source in the community told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the incident occurred Thursday night.
He said 36 corpses have been recovered while many people are still missing following the attack.
The source said some students of the College of Education in Katsina-Ala were also killed during the incident.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that the development has stimulated social media outrage on Friday.
However, the spokesperson of the state Police Command, Catherine Anene, said she has not received details of the incident.
