Gunmen have killed more than 15 persons in a fresh attack in Bokkos and Mangu local government areas of Plateau State.
The attack took place on Thursday night at Manja community of Chakfem kingdom in Mangu, and Tangur community in Bokkos as the invaders stormed the communities at different times.
Tangur was attacked around 9pm when people were already retiring to bed, while that of Chakfem was much earlier.
Locals of Mangu and Bokkos said seven people were killed in Mangu, while in Bokkos, eight people died in Bokkos.
An anonymous local said sources, the gunmen came to their community and started shooting sporadically, breaking into people’s homes.
The Director of Culture Mwaghavul Development Association, Shohotden Mathias Ibrahim, and Director, IDP (Pilot Science) Camp in Mangu, confirmed the death toll of the Mangu attack, saying tension is currently high in the community.
The Plateau State Command’s spokesperson, Alfred Alabo, was yet to respond to enquiries as at the time of filing this report on Friday morning.
