Gunmen have allegedly abducted the Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area of Kano state, Alhaji Hamza Musa Durba.
The incident occurred in Dinya town, within Durba ward of Kibiya LGA, on Friday night.
The attackers, about six in number, stormed the official’s residence of the Local government secretary under the cover of darkness of the night.
According to a local security sources, the gunmen arrived on motorcycles and were heavily armed, yet they didn’t carried out the operation with a single shot to draw attention, a development many residents described as unusual, and calculated.
A local security operative, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the abduction, noting that the attackers executed the operation with speed and precision, gaining entry into the residence without drawing attention from neighbors.
Similarly, an eyewitnesses said members of the victim’s family were present during the incident but none was harmed or taken away during the operation , as the assailants appeared focused solely on their target and their planned operation.
It was reliably gathered that security agencies have since been alerted and have launched a manhunt to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe release of the abducted official.
