The Rivers State Police Command says gunmen on Monday killed an inspector of Police when they attacked a team of Police men on duty at Borokiri area of Port Harcourt.
The Command Public Relation Officer, Nnamdi Omoni who confirmed the incident on Monday said other members of the team sustained gunshot wounds during the attack.
He said the Police patrol vehicle belonging to the team was riddled with bullet holes, while the corpse of the late inspector has been evacuated and deposited in mortuary for autopsy.
Omoni also said a Police Sergeant, Ibrahim Odege and one Sampson Inomoghe, have been arrested in Rivers State for alleged armed robbery.
He said that Odege and Inomoghe were apprehended by community youths on Saturday night during a robbery attack on Elekahia Housing Estate, in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the state.
