Students of Plateau State University, Bokkos, have protested over the rape of four female students of the institution on Monday by gunmen.
It was learnt that the students were abducted on Monday night outside the university campus where they (the students) reside, and took them to the bush where they raped them.
21st Century Chronicle reports that the majority of the university’s students live in private accommodations around the university campus, due to insufficient student hotels.
An eyewitness said the assailant invaded the area and shot in the air to scare the students, before they abducted their victims.
He said a male student was hit by a bullet during the incident.
A staff of the university, who pleaded anonymity said the vice chancellor will issue a press statement on the issue.
