A journalist, Amra Ahmed Diska, working with Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has been abducted by gunmen at her residence in Mbamba community on the outskirts of Yola, Adamawa State capital.
Residents of the area said the assailants stormed the residence of the journalist in the early hours of Tuesday and forcefully took her away, leaving behind her six-month-old baby.
They said Amra’s husband, who they thought might be the target of the assailants, was not around at the time of the incident.
Spokesman for Adamawa State Police Command, Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident.
He said the nursing mother was abducted from her husband’s house at Mbamba between 1:00am and 2:00am.
He said police operatives had been dispatched to track down the kidnappers and bring them to justice.
