The head of Department of Agricultural Protection, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Professor Aliyu Mohammed, has been abducted in Wusasa, Zaria, Kaduna state.
The kidnappers also killed the professor’s son Abdulaziz Aliyu before taking away his father.
Professor Mohammed is the Wazirin Wusasa, and he was abducted when the assailants invaded his residence at Wusasa area in Zaria.
Gunmen also killed another person in separate attacks on Anaba village and Birnin Yero town, in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incidents in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the gunmen in separate attacks invaded three local government areas in the state on Sunday, killing four persons, including a professor’s son, two vigilante members and one other person.
