The national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan, Oyo State capital has gotten underway with accreditation of delegates already in progress just as Governors Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers) are conspicuously absent.
The elective convention of the is taking place of two court judgements against it as well as power tussles leading to suspension and counter suspension of both factions loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT Nyesom Wike and the Umar Damagum-led National Working Committee.
The Damagum-led faction is presiding over the ongoing convention relying on a judgement secured at an Oyo State High Court.
