Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has expressed willingness to partner with the private sector to advance his administration’s educational development agenda.
He made the call during a visit to his Kaduna State counterpart, Governor Uba Sani.
Ododo pledged to focus on the welfare of teachers, revitalisation of educational infrastructure, payment of bursary and commitment to ensuring safe and secure learning environment for students at all levels and sustenance of the free education policy in the state.
He said these are significant signposts of his vision for a better Kogi State, adding that his administration was dedicated to revitalising the state’s economy and human capital development,
The governor also called on foreign investors to tap into the state’s vast potential for shared prosperity in different sectors of the economy.
Governor Ododo also graced the Access Bank UNICEF Charity Shield Polo tournament as a special guest, further cementing his commitment to promoting quality education and the well-being of the people through sports.
It would be Governor Ododo’s first visit to Kaduna state where he witnessed and also commissioned a state-of-the-art educational facility, the newly built Access Bank Fifth Chukker Basic Education School located at Mararaban Jos, now boasts of 60 modern classrooms and a cutting-edge ICT Centre, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Kaduna state government, the Fifth Chukker, UNICEF and Access Bank.
Governor Ododo also participated in the groundbreaking foundation laying ceremony for the construction of an additional 50 classrooms.
He commended Governor Sani for his commitment to the transformation of education in Kaduna state and also expressed joy over the partnership between the Kaduna State government and the private sector which he noted, will further strengthen infrastructural development in the state.
