eNaira speed wallet application, which was pulled down from the Google
Play store, is back online after 24 hours.
Spokesperson of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Osita Nwanisobi, who confirmed this on Thursday said the removal was to help the apex bank upgrade the app’s functionalities.
The CBN had on Monday launched its digital currency called eNaira.
The digital currency has two applications – eNaira speed wallet and eNaira merchant wallet, which were launched on the Google Play Store and Apple Store on Monday.
However, the app disappeared from the Google Play store on Wednesday after over 100,000 users had downloaded it.
Nigerians had expressed disappointment since the release of the applications.
They complained of tedious registration processes.
