Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has given tacit support for the expulsion of Senators Danjuma Goje and Bulus Amos from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Goje and Amos represent Gombe Central and Gombe South respectively in the Red Chamber.
Aslo expelled was Yunusa Abubakar, the member representing Yalmatu Deba Federal Constituency for alleged anti-party activities.
Governor Yahaya said, the ward chairmen are leaders in the party, adding that whatever decision they take was binding on all members, “so I am also bound by the decision of the party.
“Developments are dynamic, so what has been happening is for the betterment of the people and the party.”
It would be recalled that various wards and local government area chairmen during separate briefings announced the expulsion of these federal lawmakers who were accused of failing to appear before a probe panel to defend themselves against allegations of anti-party activities.
On April 18, the ward Chairman of Kashere, Abdullahi Tanimu, expelled Goje, for “open support for opposition party candidates by hosting the NNPP gubernatorial candidate and the PDP Akko Federal House of Representatives candidate at his residence and offering support against the interest of his party, the APC, among many other instances.
“Making unguarded utterances and pronouncements capable of undermining the APC administration in Gombe State.”
Similarly, the Chairman of APC in Bambam ward, Muhammad Kaka on May 2, said the ward executives had no option but to expel Amos.
Kaka said “We held elections in our ward during the just concluded general elections and we have Amos from our ward who didn’t come out to partake in our political activities.
