Ghana has dismissed coach CK Akonnor along with assistant coaches David Duncan and Dutchman Patrick Graveraars following the Black Star’s uninspiring start to the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Football Association has announced.
Akonnor took over the Black Stars in January 2020, under a task to qualify to and win the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon next year, and as well qualify Ghana to the World Cup.
Under Coach Akonnor, Ghana opened their 2022 world cup campaign with a difficult 1-0 home win over Ethiopia, before losing 1-0 away to South Africa last week.
