Gaya Emirate Council in Kano has on Wednesday announced the council’s decision to strip the former Secretary to the Kano State government under Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s administration, Usman Alhaji of his title of Wazirin Gaya.
The announcement was made public by the Secretary of the Emirate Muhammad Bello. According to him, the decision became necessary in view of the emirate’s move to protect and uphold the good virtues of the emirate.
The stripped Wazirin Gaya is currently the leader of a group under the name of APC Volunteers forum which has been at the forefront of criticizing the current Kano state administration under NNPP.
It can be recalled that Alhaji Usman Alhaji was behind the group’s establishment of a shadow government mechanism in the state. Recently, the group during a press conference in Kano had described the two-years of NNPP as a failur
The stripped Waziri was turbaned the Wazirin Gaya by the late emir Ibrahim Abdulkadir while he was serving as the SSG in December 2020 after the Ganduje administration had created the controversial four new emirates in the state.
