The new Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, has been sworn in.
The state’s Chief Judge swore in Garo in the presence of Governor Abba Yusuf in Kano.
A former spokesperson of late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, posted on X: “Congratulations to H.E. Murtala Sule Garo on his inauguration as the Deputy Governor of Kano State.
“I wish him great success in this new role as he works alongside Gov. Abba K. Yusuf to advance the development and prosperity of our dear state.”
Garo, who was Commissioner for Local Government Affairs in Kano State, was nominated to replace former Deputy Governor Abdussalam Gwarzo.
The office became vacant after former Deputy Governor, Abdussalam Gwarzo, resigned on March 27, 2026.
