Alhaji Garba Ahmad Bunu has been appointed as the new Emir of Kwatarkwashi, in Bungudu local government area of Zamfara State.
Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle made the appointment on Tuesday, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Balarabe Sardauna.
Bunu is succeeding Alhaji Ahmad Umar, who died last week at the age of 93 and after 61 years on the throne.
The late emir was the longest serving traditional ruler in Zamfara state.
