Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has traveled to the United States of America (USA) to attend a week-long “Authentic Leadership Development Programme” at Harvard Business School, Boston.
The Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the governor has transited power and given full mandate to the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, to serve as the Acting Governor of the state in his absence.
He said all official transactions henceforth should be channeled through the office of the Deputy Governor for necessary action.
Ganduje’s journey to the US is coming as the crisis rocking the Kano chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to deepen.
On Thursday as thugs set ablaze the campaign office of Senator Barau Jibrin, one of the anti-Ganduje politicians in the state.
JIbrin (Kano North, APC) belongs to the Kano APC faction loyal to Senator Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano Central, APC).
On November 30, a Federal High Court in Abuja nullified the congresses of the Kano state APC conducted by the Ganduje-led faction of the party and upheld the congresses held by Senator Shekarau-led faction of the party in the state.
Shortly after the judgment the state government early sealed the office premises of a lawyer representing the Shekarau- led faction of APC in a case in the Abuja court, Barrister Nureini Jimoh, SAN.
