The Federal University in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State is planning to begin degree programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science & Analytics, Networking and Cloud Computing among others.
The new Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Ahmad Muhammed Gumel stated this during an interactive session with staff of the university.
A statement by the university’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Yahaya Bello quoted the Vice Chancellor as saying to achieve academic excellence in the 21st Century, there was the need to revise and modernize curricula to meet NUC’s benchmarks and global digital transformation in pedagogy.
Professor Gumel revealed that part of his plan is to introduce new and on-demand programmes such as AI & Machine Learning, Data Science & Analytics, Networking and Cloud Computing.
Other courses in the offing, according to the VC, are Project Management, Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain, Geology, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Community Health, Science Education and Business Education among others.
