Suspended Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara has vacated Rivers Government House, Port Harcourt.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that Fubara moved out on Wednesday morning.
The new Sole Administrator of the State, retired Admiral Ekwe Ibas is set to take over.
The Government House was calm with three armoured personnel carriers stationed at the main entrance of the Government House.
Also, it was learnt that the old security details of the Government House had been removed and new ones deployed following the change of guard.
A security source said “the governor left the Government House this morning and the new administrator is yet to resume. We are expecting him any moment from now. The security details in Government House have been reshuffled. I can tell you that everywhere is calm and nothing is happening as we speak now.”
Meanwhile, residents in the state capital are going about their normal businesses as there is no sign of breakdown of law and order.
Tinubu on Tuesday imposed State of Emergency on the state, attributing vandalisation of pipelines and inability of stakeholders to resolve the political crisis in the state despite a series of interventions as reasons for the order.
