A section of the $20 billion has been razed by fire.
The fire which started on Wednesday afternoon, began at the effluent treatment plant (ETP) of the refinery located in Lekki area of Lagos.
Dangote Group in a statement by Anthony Chiejina, said: “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.
“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty.”
Emergency services responded swiftly to contain the incident.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are underway to determine the extent of the damage and what led to the incident.
