Reports have indicated that no fewer than 78 cows, sheep, goats and chickens have been killed due to fire incident that took place at Danzago village of Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to the Public Relations Officer, Kano Fire Service command, the incident took place on Wednesday at a family house of one of the village inhabitants.
He said the state fire service branch office at Danbatta local government area received a fire call for emergency assistance from one Abdurashid Sha’aibu who came to Danbatta division and informed them of the fire outbreak.
“Our men from Danbatta went to the place where the incident happened and on their arrival, they found a one-family house known as Gidan Ado Yubai on fire. The fire affected two cows, 36 sheep, 17 goats, 10 chickens and 19 local food storage facilities, but with God’s intervention our men managed to save two sheep, four cows alive, two local food storage (Rumbu) and other valuable items,” he said.
An eye witness Malam Habu Ishaka said the mystery fire could have been so devastating had it been the fire service that didn’t arrive at the incident spot.
