President Muhammadu Buhari has been challenged to expose governors who diverted local government funds in the country.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Thursday threw the challenge at President Buhari on Thursday in a statement by his New Media Aide, Muhammad B. Tukur.
The President recently took a swipe at the state governors, accusing them of diverting local government allocations meant for grassroots development.
This has elicited reactions from some governors who rather blamed the president for the overall challenges being faced by Nigeria.
Governor Fintiri, in the statement to stop what he described illegal deductions in the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, saying the practice was a fraud
The governor was in Jada when he dropped the challenge, where he told the people of town how his administration has reduced school dropouts to a bare minimum, made education free, and built over 5,000 schools.
He said his administration has settled senior secondary school examination fees for over 150,000 students since its inception.
Governor Umaru Fintiri said the state government has successfully dealt with the threat of insecurity which has long plagued Adamawa, vowing to deal with the state’s remaining criminals.
He pleaded with the people of Jada to re-elect him so that he could continue to provide good governance, while also encouraging them to vote for their son, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and other PDP candidates.
