Enyimba Football Club has appointed former Super Eagles’ player Finidi George as its new head coach.
The club disclosed this on its official website on Wednesday. George replaced Fatai Osho whose contract expired in August, after a two-year deal with the eight times Nigerian champions.
The former Ajax winger made 62 appearances for the Super Eagles in his fifteen years playing career.
He represented Nigeria at two world cups in 1994 and 1998 editions and also won the African Cup of Nations with Super Eagles in 1994.
The Nigerian football legend won the Uefa Champions League with Ajax in 1995 and went on to play for Real Betis, RCD Mallorca, and Ipswich Town.
He is set to play his debut game as Enyimba head coach at the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round fixture against Senegalese side Diambars FC in mid-October.
