The Federal Government is plotting to impose emergency rule in Zamfara
State in view of the frequent attacks carried out by bandits in communities in the state,
The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, disclosed this Wednesday at a press conference in Abuja. He said the federal government was going after the soul of the Northwest state “after failing to convince Governor Bello Matawalle to join its fold.”
The party said the federal government is trying to portray the governor in bad light in order to instigate public hatred toward him.
He said the administration would undermine and subvert the democratic order by showing that the Zamfara state government is ineffective while the blame should actually be made against the government for its failures to contain insecurity in the state.
“Our party calls on Governor Matawalle to remain strong and focused at this critical time. The party also urges the people of Zamfara state to remain calm and continue to cooperate with our security forces, under the democratic order, as they intensify efforts to rid the state and our nation of these vicious outlaws,” he said.
