The Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, has placed the Diaspora sponsors of hunger protesters on its watch list.
The Controller-General of the NIS, Kemi Nandap, revealed this, but she however didn’t reveal any name.
She said the watch-listed individuals would be arrested upon their arrival in the country.
Nandap who disclosed this at a meeting of heads of security agencies and Service Chiefs in Abuja on Tuesday, said, “We have diaspora sponsors, they are on our watch list. “
“They are watch listed, any attempt they make to come into the country, we’ll be notified and they will be picked up and handed to the appropriate authority.”
The Immigration boss said the Service has deployed more officers to borders both land and airports to ensure effective manning of those entry points as the protest continues, adding that surveillance has been increased to prevent foreign intervention in the country.
The Director-General Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, said the agency has uncovered some sponsors but declined to give further information.
The DG, DSS who was represented by the Service spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, said some accounts have been blocked, adding that persons operating such accounts are staying abroad, adding that they are being monitored.
