A woman suspected to be a polytechnic student in Delta State made an attempt on her life by jumping into the river from the Oghara-Benin Bridge.
Reports say that the student had jumped from the bridge into the river as a traveler and his friend were returning from Benin.
They allegedly parked on top of the bridge and called for help.
Locals under the bridge leaped into the river and made their way to the area where the woman fell in.
According to reports, the drivers also called Divisional Police Officer Oghara, who dispatched men to the scene.
The student was reportedly saved alive and transported to the Oghara Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The reasons for the lady’s action were not known at the time of reporting.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, could not also be reached for comments on the incident.
