The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday appointed six governors and two former senate presidents to lead its National Campaign Council for the Area Council Elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The elections have been scheduled for February 12, 2022.
The PDP National Organizing Secretary, Umar Bature, on Friday, said the Campaign Council has Governor Samuel Ortom (Benue) as Chairman, while his Oyo counterpart, Engr. Seyi Makinde, is the Secretary.
Other members of the council were Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, Governors Mohammed Bala (Bauchi), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Delta), Sen. Walid Jibrin, Sen. David Mark, Sen. Bukola Saraki, and Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe.
The membership also included Ibrahim Idris, Ndudi Elumelu, Sen. Philip Aduda, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, Prof. Jerry Gana, Hajiya Zainab Maina, Sen. Gabriel Suswam, Magaret Icheen, Sen. Zainab Kure, and Sen. Solomon Ewuga.
Others are Theophilus Dakas Shan (NVC-North Central), Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN (National Legal Adviser), Jiba Y. Micah, Hassan U. Sokodabo, Ngbede John, Zakka Dogo Sunday, Engr. Sam Uhuotu, Babatunde Mohammed, Francis Orogu, Barr. Tanko Beji, Chris Hassan, Abdulrahman Mohammed, Chief Felicia Ebun Owolabi, and Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed.
He said the Directorate of Organization & Mobilization (DOM) is to provide Secretariat for the Campaign Council.
The PDP urged all aspirants, party members and supporters in the FCT to remain focused and continue to work hard as the PDP marched to victory in the elections.
