A magistrate court in Kano, presided over by Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan of Court No. 21, has sentenced popular Tiktoker, and content creator, Abubakar Usman popularly known as Kilina, to one year at a correctional service centre for posting videos promoting cross dressing..
The court also gave the tiktoker an option of paying a fine of N100, 000, in addition to a compensation fee of N30, 000 that will be given to the Kano State Film Censorship Board for what the court termed as “wasting the board’s time.”
According to a radio program aired in Kano, the cross dresser tikyoker was convicted after he was found guilty of promoting indecent behavior, featuring and promoting cross-dressing in most of his tiktok videos, alongside promoting the use of offensive and vulgar language in his videos.
It was also reported that the sentencing followed a case filed against him by the Kano State Film Censorship Board.
The Magistrate warned Kilina to desist from actions that violate public decency and warned him not to risk being brought back before the court on the same charges, as the court will not take it lightly with him.
