Bandits have kidnapped a family of four in the Hayin Kinini community, located under Kakangi village in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday when the bandits stormed a house situated on the outskirts of the village.
According to Ishaq Usman Kasai, the Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), the bandits tactically entered the victim’s house to avoid attracting attention.
He said they abducted the man, his wife, and two children that night without other residents knowing.
“It was the victim’s mother who went to the house and discovered what had happened because she didn’t see him coming to visit her at her house,” he explained.
Kasai, expressing concern, stated that abductions for ransom have become increasingly common in various communities of the LGA.
He appealed for government intervention to address the escalating issue.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, who could not be reached by phone is yet to respond to his text as at the time of filling the report.
