Bandits have killed a nephew of former PDP national chairman Adamu Mu’azu, and kidnapped his sister in Bauchi state.
Mr Mu’azu was governor of Bauchi State between 1999 and 2007.
The 25-year-old former governor’s nephew, Mr Mu’azu Danladi, was shot dead at Boto village of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of the state.
Hajiya Asma’u Alhaji Adamu, the younger sister to the ex-governor, Malama Halima Abdullahi and one Nura, were kidnapped during the raid by bandits.
Witnesses said Danladi was killed when the assailants invaded the residence of Mu’azu’s family in the early hours of Wednesday.
The gunmen stormed the village around 1am and went on searching for the former governor’s children and or grandchildren, witnesses said.
Spokesperson of Bauchi police command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said a manhunt has been launched to rescue the victims.
