A delegation of past Director Generals of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), led by Ambassador Ahmad Rufai Abubakar, has paid a condolence visit to Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda over the death of Ambassador Zakari Ibrahim.
The delegation includes the current Director-General Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, Ambassador Ayo Oke, and Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, among others.
This was revealed in a statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Katsina governor.
Ambassador Rufai, who is Sardaunan Katsina, described the late security chief as a critical asset to the NIA and the nation, saying his death is a “monumental loss” to Nigeria.
The delegation also commended Governor Radda’s ongoing efforts in combating insecurity in Katsina and the Northwest region.
Governor Radda warmly received the delegation, expressing deep appreciation for their visit. He said Amb. Zakari Ibrahim was a great Katsina son, highlighting his remarkable qualities of empowerment, integrity, honesty, and generosity.
“The late Talban Katsina is one of the most respected elders that we have ever produced in Katsina. He was such a person that is well respected and he has done a lot of favours to our people,” Governor Radda stated.
“Both the government and people of Katsina State feel profoundly honoured by this distinguished condolence visit,” Governor Radda remarked.
The Governor commended the NIA delegation stating, “It’s a real privilege to receive a delegation of past NIA Director Generals because the agency has always been one of the most respected agencies in the country and always occupied by professionals with immense dignity and respect.
