A former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Solomon Akku Ewuga, has died.
Family sources in Akwanga and Nasarawa-Eggon confirmed the death of the prominent politician in the state.
He died on Sept. 23 at the age of 70,
Ewuga was deputy governor to Abdullahi Adamu, former National Chairman of the APC.
In June 1999, former President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed him Minister of State for the FCT where he served for two years.
Ewuga won a Senate seat to represent Nasarawa North in the 7th Assembly and served one term.
He was a managing director of the Nigerian Standard Newspaper.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ewuga.
Mark described Ewuga as a “distinguished public servant of repute who demonstrated fidelity to the ideals of nationhood.”
He lamented that Ewuga’s death came at a time when his wealth of experience and knowledge were most needed to guide Nigeria through turbulent political times.
