Former Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State will on Wednesday decamp from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The state APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello who put the notice on his Facebook page on Tuesday said the ceremony will take place at the Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja by 10 am.
Without stating their names in the notice, Bello aka Dollars said other notable members of various opposition political parties will accompany the former governor into the APC.
The notice told dignitaries to be seated before the arrival of the National Chairman of our great party for the crucial decamping ceremony for Captain Wada.
Captain Wada, 75, Nigerian retired pilot and politician served as governor for a single term from 27 January 27, 2012 to January 27, 2016.
His decamping from the PDP that made him governor is coming 24 hours after he celebrated his 75 birthday as the state government has sent him a happy birthday message.
In the congratulatory birthday message to Captain Wada, the Kogi State government on Tuesday in Lokoja, described Captain Wada as a respected leader, patriot, and statesman who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Kogi State and Nigeria.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, who issued the statement said “Captain Wada has remained a statesman of repute, a respected leader, and a patriot who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of our dear State and Nigeria at large,” the statement read.
