Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, wife of the former Chairman of INEC Professor Attahiru Jega, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, according to the family.
Her funeral prayers would be conducted immediately after Zuhr prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja, on Sunday.
The deceased is survived by her husband and six children.
The death was announced in a short statement released by Alhaji Abbas Jega on Sunday.
The statement reads: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. With total submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing of the wife of Prof.Attahiru Jega.
“Her Janazah will be held immediately after Zuhr prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja on Sunday, 5th April 2026.
“May Allah grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings. May He also grant the family the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen.”
Hajiya Hadiza, who schooled at the University of Sokoto [now UDUS] and in Chicago, was until recently a staffer at the National Population Commission, Abuja.
