A former military administrator of the Delta and Ebonyi states, retired Commander Walter Feghabo, is dead.
He was 69.
The death was announced by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in a condolence message.
He was born on August 15, 1956, in Warri, Delta State.
He was raised in Warri and attended primary and secondary schools in the city.
Mr Feghabo served as the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State between October 1996 and August 1998.
He was then appointed administrator of Delta State in August 1998 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, handing over to the elected civilian governor James Ibori on 29 May 1999.[
He was retired in June 1999 by President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
Governor Oborevwori described Feghabo’s death as a great loss not only to the Ijaw Nation but to the entire country.
The governor’s condolence was conveyed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon on Monday in Asaba.
The governor commiserated with the government and people of Bayelsa, the Nembe Kingdom and the immediate family of the late Feghabo.
