Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero has officially informed the Nigeria Police Force in Kano State about arrangements for the forthcoming Sallah Durbar to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting.
The announcement of the plan was contained in a correspondence dated March 7, 2026, and addressed to the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
The emirate council stated that the traditional celebrations would take off from the emir’s palace in Nasarawa area of Kano to some designated areas.
The letter, endorsed by the emir’s Private Secretary, Abdullahi Haruna Kwaru, explained that the schedule of activities had already received approval from the emir and members of the Kano Emirate Council.
He said the programme will feature several iconic durbar outings such as Hawan Sallah, Hawan Daushe, Hawan Nasarawa and Hawan Panisau, in addition to other traditional displays associated with the historic festival.
It further stated that a detailed timetable outlining the dates, venues and timing of the durbar processions had been attached to the notification sent to security agencies to guide their preparations in ensuring that the activities have been conducted peacefully.
