The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, on Tuesday suspended Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar.
The suspension was announced in a letter dated February 23, 2021, and signed by the secretary to the emirate council, Alhaji Musa Usman Bashar.
“I most humbly wish to write and notify you that the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, CFR, mni, has directed me to convey to you his decision that, you have been suspended until further notice from the council with effect from 23 February, 2021,” part of the letter reads.
The suspension, according to the letter, was based on the emir’s stance on the letters the Waziri wrote to the council’s secretary, dated February 9, 2021; another letter tendered through the council secretary to Usman Dalhatu Zaria; and other letters the suspended council member sent to other persons known to him.
