Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Wednesday set up a seven-member conference committee to interface with the House of Representatives team to harmonise the different versions of the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2010, passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.
Lawan named the Senate Leader Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi as the head of the committee, while the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Senator Kabiru Gaya (Northwest), Senator Danjuma Goje (Northeast) and Senator Sani Musa (Northcentral) are to serve as members.
Other members of the committee include Senator Matthew Urhoghide (South south), Senator Ajibola Basiru (Southwest) and Senator Uche Ekwunife (Southeast).
