With elections scheduled to begin 8:30 am, most polling units in some Kaduna suburbs have remained empty as 9:30am
Our correspondent who monitored the situation reports that from Kurmin Mashi, through Abakpa, Unguwan Shanu, to Unguwan Kanawa, and Unguwa Sarki, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were no where in sight to erect the cubicles where voters would cast ballot.
It is also observed that there was no display of voter list at designated areas adjacent to polling units.
The only spot voters list was displayed was on Sonkowa Street at Unguwan Shanu.
Residents of these areas just mill around doing whatever was ahead of them as if it is not an election day.
In partial respect of vehicular and people movements, some shops were closed especially the bigger ones, while smaller ones such as tea corner shops were busy attending to customers.
On Dahiru Road in Kurmin Masha that looks more like elite settlement, most residents remained indoors, but in other locations, people were seen moving in different directions.
In Abakpa, Unguwan Shanu and Unguwan Kanawa, residents went about their personal business as if election was not about to take.
