The bail, once granted to a former Chief of Staff to ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Bashir Saidu, has been revoked as he has been returned to a custodial facility in Kaduna State.
DAILY TRUST quoted a source close to Saidu, saying “It is true that his bail was revoked and he has been remanded.”
But sources revealed that Saidu was returned to custody after Wednesday’s hearing, which led to his bail being revoked, and will remain there pending the continuation of his trial next month.
Saidu, who is being prosecuted for alleged financial fraud, was granted bail after spending 50 days in detention last year.
Saidu is a political ally of the former governor who was given bail after satisfying necessary conditions.
He joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to continue his active political activities.
