Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has visited his former Chief of Staff, Bashir Saidu, detained at the Kaduna Custodial Centre over N4.2 billion alleged fraud and money laundering.
El-Rufai who was accompanied by three of his former commissioners, was at the facility around 10:19 am and left around 10:47 am on Thursday.
The former commissioners include Jafaru Sani (education), Hafsat Baba (Human Services and Social Development), and Ibrahim Hussaini (environment).
After the visit, el-Rufai declined to speak to reporters and drove away.
Saidu was arrested on Monday and brought to a magistrates’ court at Rigasa which ordered his detention at the correctional facility.
He is being charged with money laundering, stealing, among others.
He was also el-Rufai’s commissioner for finance, local government affairs.
