The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has called for unity among Nigerians while urging leaders at all levels to prioritise the welfare and security of the people.
Bayero made the call shortly after observing the Eid-el-Fitr prayers in Kano.
The Emir called for kindness and love toward one another, adding that such values are essential for peaceful coexistence.
He appealed to Federal, State and Local Governments to intensify efforts toward safeguarding the lives, health and property of the people.
“Leadership is a trust bestowed by God that must be handled with responsibility and accountability,” he said.
The tradtional leader highlighting the economic challenges facing Nigerians, urged leaders to focus on the needs of Nigerians and take practical steps to address them.
He prayed for leaders across the country, asking God to grant them the wisdom and ability to govern with justice and fairness.
Bayero encouraged citizens to continue to pray for the country’s leaders.
” I urge you to maintain goodwill and positive expectations toward those in authority.” he said.
Bayero further appreciated the Federal Government, members of the National Assembly for their support to muslims during the Ramadan period.
He urged them to sustain such efforts beyond the holy month.
The traditional leader commended Islamic scholars and clerics for their prayers for peace and prosperity.
He expressed hope that the availability and affordability of food and essential commodities would continue to improve.
He prayed for Gov. Abba Yusuf , other government officials, and the entire Muslim community to continue to promote peace and fairness.
