Former Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State is being interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday.
El-Rufai arrived at the commission’s headquarters at about 11 am, Monday following an invitation by the commission.
He is being interrogated for corruption allegations leveled against his tenure as governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023.
The former governor who is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was accompanied by hundreds of his supporters to the EFCC’s Head office, at Jabi, Off Airport Road, Abuja.
An anonymous official of the commission revealed that “he is with our investigators,” but could not confirm how long the ADC chieftain would be questioned.
Another anonymous official said there was the possibility of el-Rufai being arraigned in court after the interrogation.
