The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Kwankwaso was arrested on Saturday over alleged pension fraud.
He is being questioned at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, it was learnt.
The PDP chieftain was Kano governor from 1999 to 2003, and 2011 to 2015. He was elected Senator (Kano central) between 2015 and 2019.
The former governor was invited and being interrogated by the anti-graft agency following a petition from some retirees in the state.
An EFCC operative confirmed that Kwankwaso was responding to questions on fraud allegations resulting from series of petitions the agency received against him.
Kwankwaso, in one of the petitions, is accused of diverting N10 billion meant for the payment of pensions and housing estates construction.
