Former Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N27 billion fraud.
Mr Ishaku was Taraba governor between 2015 and 2023.
He was arrested at his Abuja residence in the early hours of Friday, it was learned.
The anti-graft agency has slammed a 15-count charge against Mr Ishaku and he would be arraigned in court soon as evidence against him have been compiled.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale has confirmed the arrest to journalists on Friday.
