A 94-year-old mother of a House of Representatives member in Jigawa state, Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya., has been rescued from bandits.
Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) rescued Hajia Binta Ibrahim on Saturday.
The lady was abducted on Wednesday.
The bandits seized the lady at about 2.00 am at her Kiyawa country home.
Mr Gaya represents Kiyawa federal constituency at the House of Reps and he is the APC flag bearer for Jigawa South senatorial district.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded N100m ransom from the lawmaker.
A family source said the DSS rescued Hajia Binta at about 4.00am on Saturday after storming the kidnappers den.
