An operative of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Owerri, Imo state capital on Tuesday.
The officer was killed on Owerri Onitsha Road.
This is coming less than 48 hours after DSS state office was razed in Nnewi, Anambra State by IPOB militants.
The slain officer was identified as Prince Nwachinaemere Ezemuonye Ozuzu.
He reportedly hails from Umuoyo, Irete in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.
The operative was killed while returning from Anambra state, where a DSS state office was burnt down two days earlier.
There was no official statement yet on the incident.
There are indications also that the officer might have been killed by a bullet accidental discharged by one of his colleagues.
