Director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS), Tosin Adeola Ajayi, on Saturday, had a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the rise in insecurity in the country.
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, who announced this on Saturday in Abuja, said the meeting was to brief the President on the current security situation in the country.
Nigeria has experienced a surge in insecurity recently, including the abduction of students in Kebbi and Niger states.
Four days after Monday’s kidnapping of 26 of students from a secondary school in Maga, Kebbi State, gunmen on Friday invaded St. Mary’s school, a Catholic institution in Papiri community of Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State and abducted over 125 students and 12 staff.
The insecurity has forced the Federal and State Governments to close schools.
