A wanted kidnapper has been intercepted at the hajj camp in Abuja by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Quiting security source, Daily Trust reports that the kidnapper was arrested on Sunday during screening of pilgrims who were preparing to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia.
The sources who gave the name DSS arrests wanted kidnapper in Abuja Hajj camp enroute Saudi Arabiaof suspect identified as Yahaya Zango, said he lives at Paikon -Kore in Gwagwalada area council of the FCT.
He was reportedly declared wanted, after his alleged involvement in some kidnappings.
The suspect presented his passport alongside other Muslim contingent from Abuja who were on their way to observe this year’s hajj.
“It was this afternoon during the screening at the hajj camp in airport when the DSS operatives apprehended him and whisked him away,” he said.
An anonymous senior official at the Muslim pilgrims welfare board confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspect had been on the run after security launched manhunt for him.
The DSS was yet to make a statement on the development as at press time.
