A former Senator, Kano South Senatorial District, Mas’ud Jibrin el-Doguwa has revealed that he is optimistic that the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa will win Saturday’s supplementary elections in Tudun Wada/ Doguwa Federal Constituency.
Doguwa, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this known in Kano on Thursday.
He said for the f El Jibrin Doguwa, hinged his optimism because the Majority Leader was leading his closet opponent, Retired Air Commodore Salisu Yishau of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) with over 4000 votes in the February 25th elections, the majority leader would win again as his opponent lacked the capacity, followership and public support to upstage the incumbent at the polls.
It would be recalled that in the February 25th, 2023 elections, Alhassan Doguwa was leading his NNPP opponent with 4,900 votes and INEC has fixed this coming Saturday for the re-run election scheduled to take place in 13 polling units with about 7000 persons who had collected their voter’s cards.
The former senator said most of the allegations against the Majority leader in recent times were triggered by the desperation of his opponents to dislodge him from his seat at all costs.
